Seeking Teaching Artists for 2023

Teaching Artist must pass a background check for the district they teach within and child care licensing through Identogo (2 tests @ $40/each). This fee is reimbursed upon completion of the session duration (start date of session to finish) and once all materials are returned to Theater Lab Kids and with presentation of receipt. Additionally, all staff must be trained to administer CPR and First Aid with vaild proof (not expired) including certificate or card.

The Spring 2022 sessions begin January 23, 2023 through May 5th, 2023, excluding holidays/closures with makeup dates (if needed) May 8-12.

Teaching Artists are expected to:

  • be able to think quickly on your feet and entertain the children

  • have experience with children in a former position with references

  • be knowledgeable of games and improv exercises

  • be knowledgeable in the content area of theater

Teaching artists are paid by the class after school at a Contract Rate of $50/class and must be able to accept electronic payment. For summer camp pay varies based on experience. Teachers will receive a 1099-NEC for tax purposes and responsible for reporting accordingly.

To apply email with a cover letter, resume with a list of 4 references, employment application with valid DL, and three times that would be good for a phone interview. It is recommended to also submit theatrical resume to provide experience.

We will respond to your email. Please no phone calls.

Thank you for your interest!
